My name is Cheshire Cat...the most unpatriotic American you'll ever meet...and I'll tell ya why...

The first Americans came here to escape persecution and oppression...only to get here and do everything in their power to persecute and oppress the native Americans. THAT my friend is the ideal that this country was really built on, HYPOCRISY. Ever since that time this so called "promised land" has descended into a festering, putrid pit of self destruction and self righteousness, earning us the title of most hated country in the world. Sure we had the best intentions in mind at the start...but of course the road to hell is paved in good intentions...

The fact of the matter is we're spoiled as a culture. We're lazy as shit and that's all it comes down to. People love to play the blame game, pointing their fingers at everyone else blaming them for why things have gotten so bad yet doing NOTHING themselves to change anything. Right now unemployment has reached a record high and quite a number of state governments are in danger of shutting down because of debt. Those in power are too far up their own asses to see whats happening and our economy is in shambles. I could rant for 10 pages in far more detail about my issues with this country but I doubt anyone would read the whole thing.

Since last night I've been listening to drunken retards setting off fireworks and laughing like morons...none of them even hold the FAKE ideals of the country of liberty and justice in high regard anymore...4th of July is nothing but an excuse to get drunk and blow shit up...they can't even wait ONE FUCKING DAY before satiating their desires to see PURDY SPLOSIONS!

I mean I'm not about to deny the god given human ability to persevere and overcome...lord knows I've seen enough examples of that in my lifetime but where the hell is it these days? We've had it so easy for so long that we've had no real reason to fight for change. Instant gratification is all people care about anymore. I can guarantee you that the most patriotic Americans out there are those in the higher upper class earning bracket so they don't have to worry about any of this crap. Why should they care about the reality of the situation? Like caged animals we've begun to turn on each other and I'm sorry to say I don't see anything changing for the better anytime soon...

And before you ask "So if you hate it so much than why are you still here?"...trust me...if it weren't for the fact that the woman I love wants us to stay where we are...I would have done everything in my power to get out of here a LONG time ago...

Because we're on the road to self destruction people...and if we don't destroy ourselves than someone IS going to nuke the shit out of us...I guarantee it...

Truer words have never been spoken, Cheshire. It's like the country could've been a utopia, but too bad that the settlers were possessed with an inability to set aside petty differences and the like. But as you mentioned, that was only the beginning.

I have pages of rants about US "culture". I could go on, but I'd rather not take up more space than necessary. But understand that I feel you.

Oh yeah, and fireworks suck my ass.

I can't argue with any singular point you made, but I will caution you against placing the blame yourself. You hold a lot of animosity for the country you live in, but it's not alone. America is big, prominent, and has a loud global voice, so it's quick to receive criticism. But you'll be hard pressed to find a country out there that doesn't have it's own fair share of darkness in its history.

I'm not trying to say the country's perfect, just that it's no worse in the end than anywhere else. The blame isn't on America, it's on people, no matter the background.

Now if you'll excuse this moron, I'm gonna go enjoy some fireworks.

Now wait a minute CC, I happen to think the U.S. of A. is a great country! Sure things aren't going well, but it's because of those mistakes that we learn and move forward.

I outgrew the flashy fireworks years ago...but I do agree with you on all your points...the ex-British people who became the founders of America fled their country for freedom of religion and from their king's taxes while welcoming others to avoid their country's oppression and whatnot.

So...by that, we ruthlessly killed and relocated the natives of this land and much later on, have hardcore Christian conservatives almost force everyone to join them and obey their rules as the government taxes their people.

Seems like we went back to square one.

I suppose if we wanna leave the country into another place for 100% pure freedom, we'd have to colonize underwater or go into space. Since we've pretty much taken up all the good places to live in.
